One of the lessons learned from the challenges experienced during the 2020-2021 school year was that school leaders, teachers, parents and students need to work together to innovate new ways to meet the learning needs of all students. Though not always seamless, nor perfect, technology played a key role in keeping many connected and learning throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

In this Season 4 premier of the EmpowerED Superintendent edWeb podcast series, three inventive superintendents share how they are leveraging technology in their school systems today to reimagine learning for all students, especially those most at risk. The featured superintendent panelists reveal the strategies they are using to build on technology’s pivotal role in leading learning for all students. The use of technology tools to assess where students are in their learning pathways, where they need to go to move forward, and what type of data is most impactful is discussed. The superintendents share how their school districts are implementing a combination of face-to-face and online learning and the scenarios that work best for their learning environments. They also review how parents and/or other adult family members utilize technology to stay involved and connected with their students’ learning processes.

This edWeb podcast is of particular value to school superintendents, K-12 school and district leaders, and aspiring leaders.
